Virszeme, SIA is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

What we collect

When you place an order: name, email address, delivery address, phone number, order contents, and payment confirmation. We do not receive or store your full card number — payments are processed by our payment providers.

When you subscribe to our newsletter: email address, and whether you opened or clicked our emails.

When you browse the site: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect orders already placed.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who need it to operate the shop:

• Shopify — hosting and order processing
• Payment providers — Shopify Payments and Klarna
• Shipping partners — Omniva, DPD, Latvijas Pasts and other carriers, together with our shipping software provider
• EmailOctopus — newsletter delivery
• Our accountant — for statutory bookkeeping

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are made under safeguards permitted by the GDPR.

We may also disclose data where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

• Order and accounting records: as long as required by Latvian accounting law (currently five years) and then deleted
• Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe
• Analytics data: up to 24 months

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Have your data deleted, where we have no continuing legal reason to keep it
• Restrict or object to how we use it
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these, write to info@varasiestade.com. We will respond within one month.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), Elijas iela 17, Riga, LV-1050, or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the shop to function — keeping your cart, keeping you logged in, securing checkout. We also use cookies for analytics and, where you have consented, for marketing.

You can manage your preferences through the cookie banner or in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent checkout from working.

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last changed.

2. REFUND AND RETURN POLICY

Your right to withdraw — 14 days

If you are buying as a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you, or someone you nominate, takes physical possession of the goods.

To exercise this right, tell us clearly before the 14 days are up. Email info@varasiestade.com with your order number, or use the form at the end of this policy. Sending the notice before the deadline is enough — you do not need to have returned the item by then.

After telling us, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

Refunds

We refund the full amount you paid, including the standard delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, or of receiving proof you have sent them, whichever is earlier.

If you chose a delivery method more expensive than our cheapest standard option, we refund the cheapest standard rate.

Refunds are issued to the payment method you originally used. There is no charge for this.

Condition of returned goods

Goods must be returned in a condition allowing resale — unworn, unwashed, with tags attached.

You may handle and try on an item as you would in a shop. If an item is returned showing use beyond that, we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss in value.

Who pays for return shipping

You pay the cost of returning goods, unless the item was faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered — in which case we cover it.

Pack items so they arrive undamaged. Until we receive the return, it remains your responsibility, so we recommend a tracked service.

Faulty or incorrect items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or is not what you ordered, contact us at info@varasiestade.com within a reasonable period of noticing. We will arrange repair, replacement, or refund at no cost to you, and we cover return postage.

This is separate from, and in addition to, the 14-day withdrawal right.

Legal guarantee of conformity

Under EU law, goods must be as described and of the quality you can reasonably expect. If a defect appears within two years of delivery, you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced, or to a price reduction or refund where that is not possible.

Normal wear from use is not a defect.

Exceptions

The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised.

3. SHIPPING POLICY

Where we ship

We ship to the Baltic states, the European Union, the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan.

If your country is not available at checkout, write to info@varasiestade.com. We can often arrange delivery on request.

Cost

The exact cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Rates vary by carrier and parcel size.

Collection in Riga

Orders can be collected in person in Riga at no charge. Choose "Pickup" at checkout. We send the address and arrange a time once your order is ready.

Orders are held for three weeks from the day we tell you they are ready.

Processing time

Orders are usually dispatched within 1–3 business days. Made-to-order and preorder items state their own timeframe on the product page.

Delivery times

Estimates from the day of dispatch:

• Baltics: 2–4 business days
• Rest of Europe: 4–9 business days
• Outside Europe: 9–15 business days

These are estimates from our carriers, not guarantees. Customs can add time.

Customs, duties and taxes

Within the EU, no additional charges apply.

Outside the EU — including the UK, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan — your parcel may attract import duties, taxes or handling fees on arrival. These are set by your country, are not included in our prices, and are payable by you. We cannot predict them or refund them.

If a parcel is refused and returned because these charges were not paid, we refund the goods minus the shipping costs we incurred.

Address accuracy

Check your delivery address before completing checkout. We are not responsible for parcels delayed or lost because of an incorrect address. If you spot a mistake, contact us immediately — we can usually correct it before dispatch.

Lost or damaged parcels

If your order arrives damaged or incomplete, contact info@varasiestade.com within 5 business days of delivery, with your order number and photographs. We will resolve it.

If tracking shows no movement for an unusual length of time, contact us and we will open an enquiry with the carrier.
